It was just natural to me. I only breastfed my eldest for 4 weeks so when my second, third and fourth came along I knew I wanted to do it longer. I chose to breastfeed because its obviously better for the baby, its easier(no screaming baby waiting for a feed or bottles to sterilize) and its free!

Feed your baby on the fullest breast first until he releases the nipple or falls asleep, then burp him and offer the other breast. Some babies will feed from both breasts at each feeding, other babies will be satisfied after one breast.
During a growth spurt, your baby may take three, four, or five “breasts” at one feeding. While you may not feel you have that much milk, when your baby takes the first breast again, the extra sucking and nipple stimulation will send signals to your brain to make more milk.

It’s normal for babies to cluster feed 1-2 times per day. This means they will feed several times close together and then go several hours without feeding. During the first days of life, healthy newborns may breastfeed every hour or several times in one hour, especially during the evening and nighttime hours. It is important to watch your baby for early hunger cues, even if she’s just eaten.
