breastmilkCounts.com Even after 16 months, I still haven't be able to give it up. The only time my son has been sick is when we kept another child for a day. I wouldn't change it for anything. It is a time we can be quiet, close and loving especially on a particularly hard day for mom and/or baby. breastmilkCounts.com

Choosing a Hospital - Deciding on the right hospital or birthing center can be just as important as finding the right doctor. These are the people who will help you bring your baby into the world, and you want to be sure you and your baby are getting the best possible care.Choosing a Hospital - Deciding on the right hospital or birthing center can be just as important as finding the right doctor. These are the people who will help you bring your baby into the world, and you want to be sure you and your baby are getting the best possible care.

When you’re choosing your hospital or birthing center, be sure to consider:
Is it licensed by the state?
Check here to see if your hospital is fully accredited.
Is it a Texas Ten Step facility?
Facilities with Texas Ten Step certification are some of the best places you can deliver your baby, since they have proven they support breastfeeding moms. They require breastfeeding training for all their staff and encourage policies that ensure breastfeeding support.
Does your doctor deliver there?
Usually, doctors "have privileges" (are able to admit patients) at one particular hospital. Ask your doctor where he or she delivers, and make sure you’re comfortable with the facility. If you don’t like it, don’t be afraid to voice your concerns. If your doctor can’t or won’t deliver at the facility of your choice, don’t be afraid to change doctors.
Does it accept your insurance?
Some hospitals might cost more than others. It’s important to get an estimate of costs
before the big day.
What labor support tools are available?
Does the hospital or birthing center offer showers in each labor and deliver room? Are there birthing tubs or birthing balls available for your use? Do they have wireless monitors so you can walk around during your labor if you desire?
Does it offer any special classes before or after your baby is born?
Many facilities offer new parents classes on the birth process, baby care, sibling preparation, breastfeeding and parenting.

If possible, try to take a tour before you commit to your hospital or birthing center. Remember, it’s your birth experience and your baby, and you have choices.
